Of course Mr D’s persona is described differently by each and every person lucky enough to come in contact with him. True, he is a mysterious man who no one really knows much about. Many have called him elusive, popping up all over Huntington Beach enjoying the entertainment we provide… taking what he wants and leaving us with many unanswered questions.

Who is he? Well, Mr D is an artist and a free sprirt. He enjoys all that life offers him and is always looking for new places to go and people to meet. His entrepreneurial drive has led him to many places which most of us have read about and could only dream of going. Children love to hear stories of his travels, men are inspired by his conquests and women and thrilled to be in his presence.
As a colorful artist, he has been inspired by the exotic, mostly women. His one of a kind masterpieces are of Wind, Fire, Land and Sea and his deep passion for freedom. An avid reader of poetry and his appreciation of natural landscapes showcases his style on canvas using hardcore freestyle spray paint with acrylic accents. Some of his work is featured on the HBcool Website and in many contemporary homes in Orange County, even in a Yacht which is perpetually traveling the Gulf. Mr D is particularly proud of this and likes to likes to think of this as his “traveling art show”.
More about Mr D… first and for most he is a family man although a bachelor. His rich ancestry of Dutch and Mexican has lent him an eclectic spirit evident in the way he carries himself. Much like an eccentric fireball with the flavor of a mild cheese topped with a chocolaty adobo sauce. He loves to explore our town and share good food and times with all around.
Mr D is outspoken and loud at times yet a good listener. His ever evolving spirit for life has lead him down many roads and each road had a great restaurant and a bar! “Hole in a Walls” are his favorite. His mother, Susana, is the backbone of his family. She taught him at a young age to cook and to use only the best produce, choice cuts of meats, fresh herbs, chilies and spices – each dish flavored with love the way her mother taught her. He further continued his culinary travels each time sitting at the bar enjoying a cocktail of choice with beautiful, beautiful appetizers… absorbing each restaurant’s culture from the bartender, the patrons, the romance of the setting and finally giving into each exquisite experience the establishment had to offer.
A true connoisseur of meats of all types… he revels in many memories of steaks he’s eaten, succulent pork he’s missed and moist and tasty chicken so finely prepared… A restaurant’s dream come true… Mr D Eats and Tells!
He’s fun and fabulous. There’s always a party where he’s at. Available for ribbon cuttings and special engagements all over. People are sure to recognize him with his fresh lei, microphone in hand and photographer at his side and of course a beautiful girl on his arm.
An occasional autograph is given to the many children who look up to him as a hero and role model. He exits a late model yellow 1962 Firebird, one of many classic cars he sports, always blaring his theme song, “Surrender” by Cheap Trick.
He leaves events much the same way after fully photographing the establishment, interviewing the cook and owners. He takes one last drink, thanks the staff, dances to the door and gives his Lei to the last beautiful women he sees.
